Burned out?

Yes, you clicked on Burned Out? And no, it was not an accident.

If you are like me, you can handle it all.

You take pride at being able to manage work, home and life responsibilities. You are able, dependable, and have a reputation for giving your best. You do it all, but let’s face it… just because you can, doesn’t mean you’re immune.

Immune to what you ask?

You guessed it - burnout.

For the past 10 years, clients have walked into my office with the same goals, wanting to improve their health in one way or another. Often, they would want to lose weight, eat better or start going to the gym.

And although we live in a day and age where we can google a free diet or visit our local gym within a few miles, lack of knowledge and access to a gym is not the issue.

My clients, the ones like me who can manage it all, are feeling burned out. And after years of being in a prolonged state of emotional, physical, or mental exhaustion, our society is feeling burned out, stressed out, and checked out.

Rosie is an amazing wellbeing coach. She is a coach who helps with your nutrition, weight, etc. but what I loved was that she included aspects of life that can get in the way of that - such as work, your private life, stress, family, etc. Rosie is a coach who will help you feel heard but will help you come up with a plan that works for you!

Learning to recognize burnout has taught me that entertaining a conversation about what to eat is a disservice to a client struggling with self-care and overwhelm.

Rather, taking time to engage a client in a conversation about their self-care takes precedence. Helping people to rediscover what really makes them happy, while encouraging them to slow down and give time for rest, reflection, and healing, is the first step.

Hitting the reset button.

Are you ready to hit the reset button? Are you ready to start thinking about your self-care? Let’s work together on setting boundaries, taking those daily breaks from technology, setting aside relaxation time, getting more sleep, and making a few lifestyle changes, at your own pace, that will add up and ultimately serve you for the better.

If reading about burnout just took a weight off of your shoulders, then I’m your girl! Or should I say coach.
